Introduction

PLAYBAKmusic Records is now celebrating its 23nd year! 

It is an offspring of PLAYBAK which is now celebrating its 46th year!!

PLAYBAKmusic Records began as an independent record label in 2003. Professionally representing myself and Jamie Watt (in memory) as "THE DOUBLE J BAND"

We released our first album "THE VERY BEST OF" in 2005. PLAYBAKmusic Records also represents a great friend,

"Lee Selwood" and the label released "A NEW WORLD" by him in 2005.

Timeline:

1980:16-year-old Joseph A. Nicholson started PLAYBAK Disc Jockey Services. PLAYBAK was created as the head company.

1990: PLAYBAK Computers was launched. Built, and serviced software, hardware, servers, and networks.

1995: "Barrie's Wedding Network" partnership was born along with THE WEDDING NETWORK as the parent company.

1996: PLAYBAK acquired all of "The Wedding Network" dissolving "Barrie's Wedding Network" continuing to operate as THE WEDDING NETWORK 

2000: Clients of the Disc Jockey Services and The Wedding Network were given to a business partner. Businesses dissolved.

2003: PLAYBAKmusic Records is created.

2005: PLAYBAKmusic Records released Lee Selwood's "A New World" and The Double J Band's "The Very Best Of"

2006: "PLAYBAK Computers" ended. 

2007: PLAYBAKmusic Records went into sleep mode.

2011: "A New Beginning, Back At Spinning"

2018: Revitalized with a second offspring "PLAYBAKmusic Publishing"

 2018: PLAYBAKmusic Records presents a long-awaited brand-new release! Lee Selwood's "The Interval of Time"

2020: Covid-19 Pandemic. Recording for the next projects

2021: The Pandemic Continues while recording for next projects.

2022: PLAYBAKmusic Records & PLAYBAKmusic Publishing issues Lee Selwood's "Diversity By Design" to the world.

2023: Springtime A great new album by Lee Selwood named "THE CONTRAST" was released by PLAYBAKmusic Records!

2023: An awesome new album by Lee Selwood named "INTIMATE EXPEDITION" was released by PLAYBAKmusic Records!

2024: It's darker. A fantastic album, "AVENUE OF CURIOSITY" by Lee Selwood, was released on July 1st by PLAYBAKmusic Records!

2024: A hot new album is out. November 25th, Lee Selwood's "HARMONY AT ODDS" released by PLAYBAKmusic RECORDS!

2025: CRIMZEN BRITE - FIRST OFFENCE released by PLAYBAKmusic RECORDS & PLAYBAKmusic PUBLISHING May 26th!

2025: LEE SELWOOD - INTRINSIC DREAMING released by PLAYBAKmusic RECORDS & PLAYBAKmusic PUBLISHING DEC 15th!
